What to expect at your initial evaluation?
At your initial evaluation with us, expect a thorough and personalized experience aimed at understanding your unique needs and crafting a treatment plan tailored specifically for you. Here's what you can anticipate:

Comprehensive History Discussion: We'll start by discussing your medical history, including any past injuries, surgeries, or conditions that may be relevant to your pelvic health. This conversation provides important context for your current symptoms and helps us understand your individual situation better.

Collaborative Examination Planning: Unlike some pelvic health therapy practices, we prioritize your comfort and autonomy. You won't be required to undergo an internal examination unless you feel comfortable and it aligns with your treatment goals. Together, we'll discuss the potential benefits of an examination and determine the best approach for your needs.

Open Dialogue: Communication is key in pelvic health therapy. Throughout the evaluation, we encourage an open and honest dialogue between you and Dr. Kelli. Your input is valued, and together, we'll explore various treatment options and strategies to address your concerns effectively.

Extended Evaluation Time: To ensure ample time for discussion and planning, our initial evaluation session is 75 minutes long. This extended duration allows us to delve deep into your history, address any questions or concerns you may have, and collaboratively develop an action plan for your pelvic health journey.

Personalized Treatment Recommendations: Dr. Kelli will provide her expert recommendations for your treatment plan based on the information gathered during the evaluation. Together, you'll explore the proposed treatment options and determine what aligns best with your goals, preferences, and financial considerations.

At Alcove Pelvic Therapy, we're committed to providing you with exceptional care that respects your autonomy and prioritizes your comfort. Your pelvic health journey begins with us, and we're here to support you every step of the way.

Does Alcove Pelvic Therapy accept insurance?
At Alcove Pelvic Therapy, we operate as an out-of-network provider with all health insurances. While we don't directly accept insurance, you can still utilize your out-of-network benefits to seek reimbursement from your insurance company.

Here's how it works:

Superbill Provision: Following each session, we'll provide you with a detailed superbill that outlines the services rendered, including diagnosis and treatment codes. This document serves as the basis for submitting a claim to your insurance company.

Submission for Reimbursement: You'll submit the superbill to your insurance company according to their specific guidelines for out-of-network claims. This process typically involves completing a claim form and attaching the superbill for documentation.

Reimbursement Process: Reimbursement amounts vary depending on your insurance company and plan. While we cannot guarantee the exact reimbursement you'll receive, we've seen instances where reimbursement exceeds what you would pay as a copay for in-network services.

Financial Considerations: We understand that navigating insurance reimbursement can be complex, but we're here to support you throughout the process. Our team can provide guidance and assistance to help you maximize your reimbursement and make informed financial decisions.

While we may not be in-network with your insurance provider, our focus remains on providing high-quality care that prioritizes your pelvic health and overall well-being. If you have any questions or need further assistance regarding insurance reimbursement, don't hesitate to reach out. We're here to help you every step of the way.

Can you see patients that have Medicare?
For Medicare participants seeking treatment at Alcove Pelvic Therapy, we offer services at our self-pay rate. However, please note that at this time, Alcove Pelvic Therapy is not affiliated with Medicare. Consequently, we are unable to process claims to Medicare or your secondary insurance on your behalf.
Should you decide to proceed with treatment at Alcove Pelvic Therapy, you must acknowledge that you will not submit your own receipts for reimbursement from Medicare or your secondary insurance provider.

Please understand that our decision regarding Medicare participation in the future remains pending. We value your understanding and are available to address any inquiries or concerns you may have regarding payment or insurance matters.

Do I need a physician’s referral to receive therapy?
In Texas, you can visit a physical therapist without a referral for a limited duration, typically around 3 weeks. While we can initiate treatment without a referral, most individuals require more than 3 weeks of care. Therefore, we recommend reaching out to a licensed provider to obtain a referral for continued physical therapy. A licensed provider could include a physician, nurse practitioner, physician assistant or chiropractor. If you do not have a primary care physician, no problem. You can schedule a telehealth visit with Dr. Cliff Mauer for a seamless online referral. We are happy to make this as easy as possible for you!
